| 2 | envelopes | gelatin | unflavored |
| 1 | cup | water | cold |
| 1 | cup | water | boiling |
| 1 | cup | sugar | |
| 1 | each | lemon | juiced |
| 1 | cup | sweet wine |
Soak the gelatin in cold water.
Pour boiling water over and add sugar.
Mix to thoroughly dissolve gelatin and sugar.
Add wine and lemon juice.
Chill in a pretty bowl (cut or pressed glass is traditional).
Serve a bowl of aforementioned custard sauce on the side so it can be added at the diner's discretion.

This is a dish kids will love. My 14 year old stepson would give this 10 stars. It is a good dinner when you don't want to spend much time cooking and have children.


A truly amazing combination of flavors. The dressing is divine, the warm and tart goat cheese combined with the sweetness of apple ring is truly out of this world.
