| 1 1/2 | pounds | beef chuck | 1 inch cubes |
| 2 | tablespoons | vegetable oil | |
| 1 | can | soup, tomato | |
| 1 | cup | water | |
| 1/2 | cup | onion | chopped |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | basil | dried |
| 4 | medium | potatoes | pared,cubed |
| 4 | medium | carrots | 1 inch pieces |
| 1 | medium | onion | quartered |
| 1 | cup | wine | burgundy |
Combine flour, salt, pepper.
Coat meat and brown in hot oil in oven proof dish.
Add soup,water,onion(chopped) and basil.
Cover and bake in 375 degree F oven 1 hour.
Add vegetables and wine and cook, covered another hour or til done.
Veggies should be soft when pierced with fork.
Can serve over noodles or rice.
