| 4 | tablespoons | cocoa powder | |
| 1 | cup | sugar | |
| 6 | tablespoons | flour, all-purpose | |
| 2 | cups | milk | |
| 3 | egg | egg yolks | beaten |
| 2 | tablespoons | butter | |
| 1 | dash | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract |
Mix thoroughly sugar, flour, cocoa and salt.
Add scalded milk.
Cook in double boiler until thick and smooth.
Add beaten egg yolks and cook 5 minutes longer.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter.
