| 3 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 2 1/4 | cups | sugar | divided |
| 1 | tablespoon | baking powder | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 4 | large | eggs | |
| 1 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 1/3 | cup | orange juice | |
| 2 1/2 | teaspoons | vanilla extract | |
| 4 | medium | apples | peeled and sliced |
| 2 | teaspoons | cinnamon | ground |
| 1 | x | powdered sugar |
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 2 cups sugar, baking powder and salt.
Combine eggs,oil,orange juice and vanilla.
Add to flour mixture and mix well.
In a bowl, toss apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar.
Spread a third of the batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan.
Top with 1/2 apples.
Repeat layers.
Carefully spread remaining batter over apples.
Bake at 350F for 55- 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack: cool completely.
Dust with confectioners' sugar.

This recipe is awsome. It is clear, and concise. I like the fact that it has alternatives, and lets you decide what to use(mainly, what you have on hand!). Thank-you for a great recipe. This is definitely a keeper!


Quick, easy and tasty. Why order out for chinese when it's so easy to make at home. Low in fat only 223 calories per serving with great flavor. If you are quick you can have it ready in only 10 minutes, 15 minutes at the most!
