| 1/2 | cup | butter | |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar, light | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1 | teaspoon | cinnamon | |
| 2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cloves | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | nutmeg | |
| 1 | cup | raisins, seedless | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt |
Mix butter, sugar, salt and spices. Add flour and applesauce in which soda has been dissolved. Add the raisins.
Pour into an oblong, well-greased pan and bake at 350-F about 35 minutes.

Worked out great. Never made them before. Noted that next time I'll use medium heat to brown and low to finish them off. First round turned out a bit overdone. Was using a ceramic cooktop.
